Welcome to Rishta. We are committed to protecting your privacy and handling your data in an open and transparent manner. This Privacy Policy details how we collect, use, protect, and share your information when you use our matrimonial app and services.

1. 1. Information We Collect

   To provide our service, we collect the following information which you provide to us during registration and profile creation:

   • Account Information: Your full name, email address, and phone number.
   • Profile Information: Date of birth, gender, education, profession, marital status, and your bio.
   • Location Information: Your country, province, and city.
   • Sensitive Information: Religion, sect, and caste.
   • User Content: Photos you choose to upload to your profiles.
   • Technical Information: Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) tokens to send you push notifications related to your account activity.

2. 2. How We Use Your Information

   Your information is used solely to provide and improve the Rishta app experience. The primary uses include:

   • To Create Your Account and Profiles: Your account information is used to create and secure your main user account. You can create one or more profiles associated with your account.
   • To Display Your Profile: Your profile information (such as your age, location, profession, photos, etc.) is used to build your profile, which is then displayed to other users of the app.
   • To Enable Search and Matching: Information such as your age, religion, caste, and location is used as search filters to help other users find your profile and to help us suggest compatible matches to you.
   • To Communicate With You: We use your email address and push notification token to send you important updates about your account, your connections, and our service.

3. 3. How We Share Your Information

   Your privacy and control over your data are very important to us.

   • With Third Parties: We do not share, sell, or rent your personal information to any third-party companies for marketing or any other purpose.
   • With Other Rishta Users: Information is shared with other users on the platform in two ways:
     • Public Profile View: When other users browse your profile, they can see your profile information, such as your age, city, religion, and bio. You have the option to make your full name and photos private in your account settings. Your contact information (email and phone number) is always private at this stage.
     • After a Mutual Connection: If you and another user both express interest and form a mutually approved connection, we will then share your contact information (email and phone number) with each other to allow you to communicate directly.

4. 4. Your Choices and Controls Over Your Data

   We empower you with control over your data in the following ways:

   • Editing Your Information: You can review and edit your profile information at any time through the "Account Settings" or "Edit Profile" sections within the app.
   • Hiding Your Profile: You can make any of your profiles "temporarily invisible." This means your profile will not be shown to other users, but the information will remain on our servers so you can make it visible again whenever you choose.
   • Deleting a Profile: You can choose to permanently delete any of your individual profiles at any time. When you select this option, the deletion is immediate and permanent from our live database.
   • Deleting Your Account: Deleting a profile does not automatically delete your main user account. If you wish to permanently delete your entire account (including your email, phone number, and all associated profiles), please send a request to our support team at info@talabilm.com. We will process your request and confirm the permanent deletion of your account and all associated data.

5. 5. Data Security

   We are committed to protecting your data. We use industry-standard security measures, including:

   • Encryption: All data transmitted between your device and our servers is encrypted using HTTPS.
   • Password Security: We use strong, one-way hashing algorithms to protect your password. Your plain-text password is never stored.

6. 6. Data Retention

   We retain your information only for as long as it is necessary to provide our service to you. As stated above, when you permanently delete a profile or your account, the data is deleted immediately from our live systems. Data may persist in our secure, encrypted backups for a limited period but will not be used in our live systems.

7. 7. Children's Privacy

   Our service is not intended for anyone under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 18. If we become aware that a child under 18 has provided us with personal data, we will take steps to delete such information and terminate the person’s account.

   We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date. You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes.
